The Glamorganvale to Lowood is a picturesque road climbing the Lowood hills only known to locals, but it ranks alongside the road to Cairns from Kuranda, or the Palmwoods to Montville road for sheer exhilaration.

But sadly, as is all too usual, once 'discovered' it becomes the very place that it never wanted to be. The locals who kept it as a hidden secret for others to enjoy tend have to contend with multi-million dollar properties, and what was once food-producing land is now a developers haven for Tar and Cement. What was once water absorbing ground now has impervious surfaces like roofs and roads that add to the capital city's flood problems.

Ugarapul and Yaeggera inhabitants would have considered the watercourses attracting life that would make it their hunting ground. The views were not valuable, indeed the views only came with land clearing.

The song takes the position of what we would think If we take their view, plus with the addition of the views. Don't forget, we can drive, they were only on foot so the panoramas didn't have the drama of changing from minute to minute. Hopefully we can view the land as did they.

LONG GONE
Music & Lyrics ©2021 Michael Anthony

I've been here before
but I can't remember when
seen scenes like these
though I can't place where

where in the world could it be ?
where in my mind do I know them from ?
where in my list of what's important ?
can I find what's long gone.

We've been there today
and it looks almost the same
it was told to us
by those who can place where

where in the world could it be ?
where in my mind do I know them from ?
where in my list of what's important ?
can I find what's long gone.
