Suite Valley is a collection that started out as showcasing daily life in the valley for tourists,
and ended up for ourselves as rediscovering what is special to preserve.

This song could be anywhere in the valley but is mainly inspired by Camp Duckadang outside of Linville, hosting winter camps to Astronomical Societies.
International visitors are awed at our brilliant night skies that can be enjoyed pretty well most of the time regardless of other event calendars. Much the same as tropical beaches define north Queensland.
Farmstays and Cabin retreats are best to enjoy our relaxed surroundings and, still satsfy food security and productive land use. The best place to experience our night skies.

I may yet change the words of this song as many people dont know the classical star names. What most people do is find the Southern Cross first and then get our bearings from there. We have this affinity with our country’s symbolism, Its like once we’ve found that one, the rest doesn’t matter. So maybe that should be at the start of the song.

Artistic works, particularly in music don’t have to be perfectly finished before its shared.
We don’t mind looking at an unfinished clay pot or a food dish because we like to watch the artisan or chef behind the scenes as part of the appreciation.

But we carry this idea that musicians can’t have this same freedom, and other potential composers in the valley may not take those first steps because of this.

STARLIGHT WANDERING
Music & Lyrics ©2010 Michael Anthony

from Castor to Capella
we'll trace a line like nights before
pass by Zeta and its Beta
will return as glad explorers

jewels strewn on black velvet
the views will never tire
whiles Brisbanes lights
stay away for now
it leaves us to admire
--
from Rigel to Canopus
think of all the things i could see
and my favourite wheres the plaediaes?
oh i could live there easily

jewels littering black velvet
the views we call our own
night time skies are what we prize
you wouldn't know until you're shown
--
CHORUS:
if i visit ed each oneofyou
would it take ten lifetimes?
from my own backyard i travel to
inky secret void sublime

like to gaze and wonder justhowlong
time would pass while i'm away
all my distant favourite galaxies
seem so close from where i lay
--
from Crucius looking eastwards
see Centauri hang mid air
stay at Lupus choose the next move
we could journey anywhere

jewels glittering velvet black
the views we call our own
night time skies are our own to prize
hope they never leave alone
--
CHORUS:
like to gaze and wonder justhowlong
time would pass while i'm away
all my distant favourite galaxies
seem so close from where i lay

Imaginary Starlight wanderings
lose me on those paths each time
secret backyard nighttime travelling
inky corners so sublime
